Important Early Cadastral and Railroad Map of Beaumont, Texas.
Important and rare map of Beaumont, Texas, with an inset map of Jefferson County in the upper right corner.
The map features detailed information about the rail lines and railyards within Beaumont. Additionally, it shows great street- and plot-level detail of the developing city.
In 1897 Beaumont was already starting to grow - as a major transshipment point for local lumber and cattle coming from other parts of Texas. But in the coming years, with the discovery of oil at Spindletop in 1901, the city would absolutely explode with activity.
