A very fine polychrome giltwood frame by the renowned House of Heydenryk, one of the most important and historically influential framing firms of the 20th century. Founded in Amsterdam in the 19th century and later established in New York, the firm became synonymous with museum-quality craftsmanship, supplying frames to major institutions and collectors worldwide. 

The present example demonstrates the distinctive Heydenryk approach—combining traditional European techniques with a modern sensitivity to surface and finish. The frame features incised floral corner ornamentation enriched with polychrome and gilded detailing, creating a nuanced interplay of color, texture, and light.
