Prevost’s “Collection des Fleurs et des Fruits” is one of the greatest flower books of the early nineteenth century. Unlike Redouté, his great contemporary, Prevost’s intention was not primarily scientific, but sought to celebrate flowers’ beauty through carefully composed floral arrangements.
