Beautiful manuscript Portolan Chart of the Costa de Choromandel. Includes the seaport of Masulipatam, the site of the earliest English settlement on the Bay of Bengal, founded in 1611, and one of the earliest posts of the English East India Company in India. The town was subsequently held by the Dutch and French until its capture by the British in 1759.
