A lovely acacia tree, surrounded by bushes and ferns, rises just in front of the spot from which the artist drew this view. In the foreground, a large, undulating field descends towards the village. An old cowherd leans on his staff, looking out over Bagimont and a hunt taking place nearby as two riders, their servants and dogs pursue a stag.Bagimont was part of the territory of Orchimont and not Agimont, as its place in the album would lead one to suppose. The inhabitants lived in houses that were traditional for this area, which had thatched roofs and gabled doors. Many houses had adjoining orchards, as evidenced by the appearance here that the houses occupy some sort of arboretum. The church is itself half-masked by trees, but one can just make out its tower and the roof of its nave rising above the houses.
