Louis XIV, King of France. Document signed. Fontainebleau: 13 September 1711. Two vellum folios sewn, written on two leaves, the final two leaves blank. Secretary hand, signed “Louis” and countersigned “Par Le Roy” “Colbert” (Jean-Baptiste) on the verso of the second leaf. This document is a declaration from Louis XIV to the Parlement de Bretagne, made at Fontainebleau 13 September 1711. This declaration emphasized the jurisdiction of those at the table de marbre, a separate division in the Bretagne Parlement relating to forestry, hunting, and fishing, over misdemeanors and crimes either to do with claims of land or committed while hunting.
